Name Numerology Calculator

Your name, decoded three ways — Expression, Soul Urge, Personality — with every letter’s value shown. Free, no signup to compute.

How this is calculated

Pythagorean letter values (A=1 … I=9, wrapping). Expression uses every letter; Soul Urge uses the vowels; Personality uses the consonants — with the Y-adjacency rule (Y counts as a vowel only when it isn’t next to one). Each total reduces with master numbers preserved. Full method: how we calculate.

What your name numbers measure

Your birth date gives the pattern you were handed; your name gives the one you answer to. Expression is how you show up, Soul Urge is what you quietly want, Personality is what others meet first. Together they round out the reading your Life Path starts.

Use your full birth name for the standard read — that’s the name the numbers are built from, and the one your Life Path chart is completed with. The name you go by is worth running too, as a comparison; the difference can be telling.

How to read your result

The calculator shows each letter’s value and the three totals. Notice where Expression and Soul Urge disagree — that gap is often the most honest thing on the page. Your full reading ties the name back to your date, and how your soul urge compares to your life path is a read all its own.

Frequently asked questions

Which name should I use?
Your full birth name — that’s the standard, and the name the numbers are built from. You can also run the name you go by and compare — the difference is telling.

When does Y count as a vowel?
Only when it isn’t adjacent to a vowel (e.g. “Mary” — yes; “Maya” — no). The calculator applies this automatically.

Do master numbers apply to names?
Yes — 11, 22, and 33 are preserved in name totals, same as in date math.
