Personal Year Calculator

Pick this year or next, enter your birthday, and see your Personal Year number with every step of the math laid out. You don’t need your birth year.

How the calculator works it out

Add up the digits of your birth day. Do the same with your birth month, then with the year you picked. Add the three results together and reduce once more. If the day, the month, the year or the total is 11, 22 or 33 at any step, we keep it whole instead of adding its digits.

Born March 14, looking at 2026: 14 becomes 1 + 4 = 5. March is 3. 2026 becomes 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, then 1. So 5 + 3 + 1 = 9, a Personal Year 9.

Born June 23, looking at 2027: 23 becomes 5. June is 6. 2027 becomes 11, and we keep it. So 5 + 6 + 11 = 22, shown as 22/4.

What each Personal Year number means

None of this says what will happen. Each number is a way to think about timing, and you decide what to do with it. A Personal Year runs from January 1 to December 31.

Personal Year 1

A 1 year, in our reading, is for starting things. In love, that can mean saying what you want out loud before anyone has to ask. At work, it suits the project you keep putting off. Day to day, one small new habit is enough to count.

Personal Year 2

We read a 2 year as a time for closeness and patience. In love, small attentions can carry a lot: the quick reply, the errand run together, the evening kept free. At work, it suits teaming up over going solo. Day to day, let things settle before you push them.

Personal Year 3

Think of a 3 year as room to express yourself. In love, it’s a good time to say the warm thing out loud instead of keeping it in your head. At work, it suits pitching, writing, presenting, anything with your voice in it. Day to day, make time for friends and fun without counting it as wasted.

Personal Year 4

A 4 year reads as a building year. In love, steady routines can say plenty: the standing date night, the shared budget, the promise kept on an ordinary Tuesday. At work, it suits the slow, solid tasks that other plans rest on. Day to day, sort out the one corner of life that keeps nagging at you.

Personal Year 5

We read a 5 year as a time for change and movement. In love, it suits trying something new together, or saying yes to the plan you’d normally turn down. At work, it suits a new skill or a fresh way of doing the old job. Day to day, leave some open space in the calendar.

Personal Year 6

Home and care sit at the center of a 6 year in our reading. In love, it suits the talks about living together, family, or who carries which load. At work, it suits looking after a team or fixing what isn’t working for the people in it. Day to day, keep some of that care for yourself.

Personal Year 7

A 7 year, as we read it, is for reflection. In love, quiet evenings and honest one-on-one talks can feel better than a packed social calendar. At work, it suits study, research, and getting really good at one thing. Day to day, protect some time on your own.

Personal Year 8

We read an 8 year as a time for ambition and money matters. In love, it suits talking plainly about plans, savings, and what you’re building as a couple. At work, it suits asking for the raise, the title, or the bigger client. Day to day, track your energy as carefully as your spending.

Personal Year 9

Think of a 9 year as a time for finishing and clearing out. In love, it suits closing old loops: the apology you owe, the habit you’ve both outgrown. At work, it suits wrapping things up before you start anything big. Day to day, sort, give away, and let what’s done be done.

Personal Year 11/2

An 11/2 year keeps the 2’s focus on closeness and patience, and in our reading adds an emphasis on intuition. In love, it suits the honest conversation that takes a little nerve. At work, it suits teaching or explaining something you care about. Day to day, take your hunches seriously and check them against the facts.

Personal Year 22/4

In our reading, 22/4 keeps the 4’s focus on building, with added emphasis on turning a large plan into practical steps. In love, it suits making a shared plan that reaches past the next few weekends. At work, it suits a big project with a team and a timeline. Day to day, break it into pieces you can finish this week.

Personal Year 33/6

We read 33/6 as a 6 year with an added emphasis on teaching and giving. In love, it suits showing up for the people close to you in ways they can see. At work, it suits mentoring and roles built on looking after others. Day to day, help freely, and keep enough back for yourself.

Why your number might not match another calculator

We keep 11, 22 and 33 whole whenever a step lands on them, and that includes the year: 2027 adds up to 11, and we keep it. Some calculators turn 2027 into 2 before adding it to your birthday. Both ways end on the same single digit, but they can disagree about master numbers, and it goes in both directions.

Born June 23, we get 5 + 6 + 11 = 22, shown as 22/4, while turning the year into 2 first gives 13, which is 4. Born January 8, it flips: we get 8 + 1 + 11 = 20, which is 2, while the other way gives 8 + 1 + 2 = 11. That’s why the calculator shows every step, so you can see exactly where your number came from.

Personal Year questions

How do I figure out my personal year number?

Add up the digits of your birth day, then your birth month, then the calendar year you’re looking at, keeping 11, 22 or 33 whole if one turns up. Add the three and reduce again. Born March 14 and looking at 2026, that’s 5 + 3 + 1 = 9.

What does personal year 5 mean in 2027?

We read a 5 year as a time for change and movement: trying something new together in love, a new skill or approach at work, and some open space in the calendar. A February 1 birthday lands on 5 in 2027, because 1 + 2 + 11 = 14, and 1 + 4 = 5.

When does a personal year start?

In our reading, on January 1, and it runs to December 31. Some practitioners count from your birthday instead. We use the calendar year so the number always matches the year you picked.

Why does my result show 22/4?

Your total landed on 22, a master number, and we keep 11, 22 and 33 whole. The number after the slash is what it reduces to, so you can see both.
